Thomas D Dareneau

A Native Texan, I was raised in Houston, graduated from Schreiner Institute, Kerrville, Texas, and received my BS degree from Trinity University, San Antonio, Texas, stationed at Ft Hood, Texas. Looking for a different climate tried New Jersey, Pennsylvania and retired here in NC having spent 30 years directing advocacy organizations supporting individuals with disabilities. I am married with 3 sons and 9 grandchildren. Rotary has been a good fit for my interests.

Dan Drake

Dan Drake has been a Rotarian since 2014. Ruston Tippetts

While new to Rotary, Ruston has always been involved in serving his community. His passion for service has taken him to multiple Native American reservations, involvement in the scouting program after obtaining his eagle scout award, and was the main motivating factor in becoming a Chiropractor as a profession. "If you want to do or achieve something great, start with yourself, but don't become preoccupied with yourself." -George Mumford

 Ann Urban, Club Treasurer

My life has always centered around family. I married my husband in 1972, and together we’ve raised two wonderful children, Andrew and Sarah. We are now the proud grandparents of Rachel, Caleb, and Miles. Our home has also been filled with the joy of beloved dogs over the years—currently, our miniature schnauzer, Hershey, is our cherished fur baby.

I joined Rotary in 2015 to be alongside my husband and share in his commitment to service. Since then, I’ve served as Treasurer for several years and found great fulfillment in supporting disadvantaged children in our community, especially through food assistance and educational opportunities.

In my free time, I enjoy sudoku and spending time with my daughter, who works from our home. Shopping together has become one of our favorite ways to connect.

 Leo Urban

I consider myself, above all, a family man—then a Rotarian, and finally, a businessman. My wife Ann and I founded Suburban Homes in 1973 in the Cleveland area. Together, we built not only a business but a life grounded in our shared values and our growing family. We’re proud parents of two wonderful children, Andrew and Sarah, who now both live in Hampstead. Our family has since expanded to include three amazing grandchildren: Rachel, Caleb, and Miles.

Outside of work and family, I’ve always enjoyed bird watching and reading. And for over 50 years, I cherished owning my 1973 Porsche 911—a nod to my lifelong passion for cars.

My Rotary journey began in 2005 with the Sneads Ferry club. After moving to Hampstead, I joined the Coastal Pender Rotary Club in 2013. Rotary has enriched my life in so many meaningful ways—especially through the friendships I’ve formed and the satisfaction of contributing to a better world. It’s truly an honor to be part of an organization that lives by the motto “Service Above Self.”
